@trenner Interesting. Most places that I've seen integrating Jira ticket names use conventions in comments rather than branch names. E.g. 'Closes/Fixes #PROJ-1235-ticket-title' to auto-close, 'Tests for #PROJ-1235-ticket-title', etc.

I've introduced pre-commit checks to ensure there is a Jira ticket pattern in the comment for e.g. SoX provenance compliance (associating code changes with the business requirement).

Seems unnecessary coupling to propagate this to branch names as well.
