Back to the reality of disability today after 2 nights of respite. B came home without her play tray, essential as she has foreshortened arms. And this morning her sling (used for hoisting), broke *while she was in it*. Luckily myself and the morning carer were able to catch her. B just laughed, of course! And I predict many phone calls today trying to get this sorted…

I never thought I’d say this, but I’m very happy that B is back enjoying the Teletubbies. There’s so many episodes, and I’m soooo tired!

#FeetUpWithBook #ProfoundDisability

For once B wanted to go for a walk (I think) as she was eye pointing at her buggy

I had to explain about Storm
Eddie and brought her out the back briefly to feel the wind

She still looks *very* disappointed though, and I feel sooo guilty!

B is home from respite, drinking a cool hot chocolate, and watching baby one more time on her iPad, and all is well in her world 😍

#ProfoundDisability

I’m not a fan of the IOT, but I got a smart light bulb for security, and now B is in charge of switching it on when we’re at home (with support) and you should see the joy on her face when the lamp lights up 🤩

Crying with pain and exhaustion- all it took was a 40 minute meeting with a FG TD ha ha

Anyway, job done, he listened , and hopefully took my points on board (he was actually very pleasant!) and met B

So the main carer has gone on her holidays and been replaced by *two* others! B is lapping up the attention and currently showing off her toast eating skills 😊

New home care worker is looking shell shocked at the amount that has to be done to help B get up and ready for her day service!

We’re having a picnic on the Donnybrook Road as B likes watching the cars go by

So far we haven’t been asked to move on

I did my best to ensure that I would be able to provide ongoing care for my profoundly disabled daughter, but the covid minimisers destroyed that plan. I dread to think what her future will be now
