New Read - Primitive Boyfriend, Volume 2

Okay, so on to volume 2 of Primitive Boyfriend.

Mito is still an unlikable sexist who thinks all modern boys aren't manly enough and / or are too soft. But, then she flies back through time to try to find her soulmate. She meets a new ancient ancestor of man whom she names Erec.

Turns out, reincarnation of the previous ape-man she met. Still her soulmate, just in a different time period.

The volume is a lot of the same. Fish out of water, but she's falling in love with this new man who is a reincarnation of her previous man.

It's popcorn romance drama. It's fine, really mindless and easy to read stuff.

Onward to Volume 3.

New Read - Primitive Boyfriend, Volume 1

So, I decided to try out something I saw a lot of folks back when I was on Instagram reading - Primitive Boyfriend. I requested all three volumes of it from the library. Let me tell you - I don't like the main character.

Mito is a teenage girl, who has rejected every boy that has asked her out. They range from jocks to preps to nerds to everything in between. Her reaction multiple times, "Ugh, men are so soft, why isn't anyone manly anymore." It's built in toxic masculinity. Thanks, I hate it.

But, I didn't hate the story. Apart from that, the volume was a largely mindless popcorn romance as Mito tries to find her "manly" soulmate with time travel to an ancient prehistoric men. It's a fast read, so I'll finish the series.
