TIL The FreeBSD kernel auto-tarpits (for want of a better word) portscans on your host as soon as they attempt to connect to a closed port. If you see the following in your logs, that’s what’s happening.

"kernel: Limiting closed port RST response from 3877 to 190 packets/sec”

You can have more fun using blackhole in sysctl

OFC there is a non-zero chance that @stratosphere fell victim to someone who wanted to blame @archlinux, but I am pretty much convinced that it takes more than a single #portscan with a spoofed #IPv4 to get blocklisted...

#PleaseBoost: IDK who at @archlinux maintains aur.archlinux.org but your Server at #Hetzner got flagged at 95.216.144.15 (line 29.000) by @stratosphere and I'm pretty shure that means whoever admins it used it to #portscan half of the internet or spread #malware or some other nefarious stuff...
