Inspired by Babylonian Ishtar gate and Ishtar, god of war and sexual love. Why is that a common combination? She is often pictured with a lion, therefore the hair. Like how the painting on her face got a bit rough. I haven't figured out how best to use glass inclusions. Box 12 cm #polymerclay

It's been a busy few weeks, what with travel for work, birthday parties, and tedious illness. But this weekend, I should be able to get back to making some wee birdies (with a break for the Italy vs Scotland match of course).

I've made simple sketches, mapping colours and some blending thoughts. The drawings are the same size as I will make the initial cane, so I'll use them as a map and lay the shaped blocks on top to check sizes.
