Tai buvo telefonas, kurio Google gerbėjai laukė kaip išganymo, bet gavo įrenginį, kuris labiau priminė mokslinį eksperimentą nei išbaigtą produktą. Pirmasis Pixel serijos telefonas su Motion Sense gestais ir tikru Face Unlock su infraraudonaisiais jutikliais.

5,7 colio Smooth Display OLED ekranas 90 Hz, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 procesorius, 6GB RAM, 64/128 GB vidinės atminties, 12,2MP pagrindinė kamera + 16MP teleobjektyvas, 8MP priekinė kamera, Android 10, GSM/HSPA/LTE/5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, A-GPS, stereo garsiakalbiai, 2800 mAh baterija (iki 25 val. budėjimo su Adaptive Battery), dydis 147,1×68,8×8,2mm, svoris 162g.

Tai vienintelis telefonas, kuriame buvo panaudota radarų technologija. Motion Sense naudojo Soli radarą, leidusį valdyti muziką, skambučius ar žadintuvą mostais ranka virš telefono. Vėliau Google atsisakė šios funkcijos dėl sudėtingumo ir baterijos sąnaudų.

Updated my backup phone, a Pixel 4XL, to LineageOS 22.1 (Android 15) and it just ... worked? How boring. In a good way. Had to do the manual process of sideloading the update + MindTheGapps but it was fast and easy.

Interesting find on the Pixel 4XL I moved to LineageOS: Wireless charging works again. I had given up since it hadn't worked in years; I thought it was hardware. There was a thread where people recommended a factory reset but it didn't work for me on stock Android. I put it on a wireless charger last night and it charged all the way up.

Now there is the classic problem where it hit 100% and then started discharging while it sat there the rest of the night.

Took one of my old/spare phones that I keep handy for various testing and moved it to LineageOS. It's a Pixel 4XL so it has been without OS updates from Google for a couple years now. So far, so good.
