Early reports confirm that today's 7x7 skews a little to the medium-to-hard side, but your mileage may vary. Click below for "Pie Hole Closure Needed" and remember to use that phrase today when you've heard enough! ;)

@tasket thank you for teaching me, that the devices can tunnel out
I had forgotten about that attack vector

The thing that is totally fantastic, is that the factories drop the prices of the devices and in turn for that, people lose all their privacy #piehole or air gap that TV; make it dumb again
There are dark reasons why we don't see dumb TVs produced anymore
Now you need to buy public displays in order to get something that works like a dumb TV, for which you still need to buy a tuner

I am not certain if I shared this, but #SmartTV are almost #TrojanHorses in your home
You have to air gap them, or use something like pie hole in order to be safe from these devices phoning home without your consent. The data harvesting in Smart tv's is so ridiculous, that the FCC is getting involved

Many of us buy 43 to 50" Smart TV to get cheap large monitor quality screens
LG TVs & monitors (I have a super wide one here) give Superb display comfort
When you run a small dumb TV a super wide monitor & s 50" Smart TV, be wise to run a pieHole just before your gateway so ads stay out
Also run a great #firewall so BS phone home software is effectively airgapped on your cheap or expensive smartTV
@nixCraft someone will create ways to block them. For now use a adblock mini server between your gateway & your local networks
There are distros #piehole specific for this

So
I took a course this week on doing a Raspberry Pi program for work. I liked it, and it got me more interested in my own potential projects. Though this has led me to several questions.
First, I'd like to make a #NextCloud server. I thought I might use a #Rock64 instead of a #RaspberryPi 4 as I like #Pine64. But there isn't a ton of documentation? At least not like RP. Does anyone have a link to a good tutorial for a neophyte?
The next thing I thought about was a #PieHole. an RP Zero 2 W is suggested as it's cheap. Is there a way to connect via ethernet with one of these, or do I have to rely on wifi?
Lastly, I thought about setting up a #Sharkey #Mastodon or whatever server on the above Rock64/RP4. Any sugesstions?
Lastly lastly, could one device do all of this, or would that be too great of a strain?
Caveat: I need a GUI. Command line is too big of a pain to also figure out at the same time.
Thanks.
