"Thank you for contacting my office about the budget reconciliation process.

"Budget reconciliation is a legislative process used by Congress since 1974 to consider mandatory spending, taxes, and our nation's debt. The process involves both chambers of Congress passing a budget resolution and a resulting reconciliation package.

"As you know, I voted for the Senate’s amended budget resolution for Fiscal Year 2025, H.Con.Res.14. This budget resolution is another step forward in helping the President secure the border and rebuild our military. It will help avoid a $1,700 a year tax increase on the average Nebraskan family of four making $80,000 a year. It will permit us to unleash American energy and protect taxpayers. It will also allow us to cut wasteful spending without harming Social Security. We must send a bill to President Trump that delivers prosperity and keeps Nebraskans safe.
