- being easy for beginners
- being popular enough that there's a ton of tutorials and sewalongs if you need them
- having pockets!
It's basically a sack dress with a matching belt and I cannot tell you how much I love it. And if it gets colder at night, it goes great with my gold cardigan from the other day too 😄
@sarahatlee My first garment (and first proper followed pattern in general) was the Everyday Dress from Peppermint Magazine, after seeing someone else's and being inspired.
It's a free pattern, super simple, basically just one big front piece and one big back piece sewn together but plenty of sewalongs available in case of confusion. It taught me what a facing is, and it has pockets!
Love it, wear it all the time.
