Penny whistle players, a question: every chart and forum thread says there are only two octaves available, and yet I can play almost a whole octave above that (more, probably, with hearing protection).
Is this some kind of in-joke? "The first rule of third octave club: we don't talk about the third octave..."
Instruments I play, in no particular order, none all that well and some pretty badly:
* #Keyboard (incl. #synth (incl. my #synthDIY modular))
* #Clarinet (incl. #altoClarinet and #bassClarinet)
* #Recorder
* #Pennywhistle
* #Melodeon
* Anglo #concertina
* #Ukulele
Happy New Moon and dia duit!
Here's a tune that I wrote in 2015 while weeding a back-country driveway on a decaying eco-farm in Ballingeary, Ireland, West County Cork.
I wanted to capture some of my feelings and impressions of Ireland in a ballad that hearkened to the lovely trad songs I was hearing in the lively local music sessions over there.
The song is called "Faerie Queen from Cahersiveen" and you can listen to it everywhere songs are streamed.
Music: Traditional tunes, classical, electronic, much other this and that.
Instruments: Melodeon, pennywhistle, synth, ukulele, clarinet (incl. alto and bass), keyboards, recorder — none very well!

“Samanthra” - a traditional hymn played on Tin Whistle (aka Irish Whistle, Penny Whistle). This was captured from my live stream last night on Twitch where I play “serenades” like this for my audience as well as vinyl, CDs, and cassettes from my music collection.
