The more you understand SVG, the less software you need to create it.

I just produced some logo deliverables by coding them directly by hand, and the result is so much better and cleaner than all my previous attempts in Inkscape (a disaster) or Penpot (much better but still not good enough).

To export them as PNGs, I simply display them on a web page and use the browser's screenshot function. It works really well and is incredibly satisfying.

and yet another #penpot frustration:

in figma, you can share the whole project as viewable or editable by complete strangers who don't even have an account

in penpot, you have to add the viewers to your team. sure, there's an option to preview board by board, but why is there no option for editing?  

rant over 

trying to use #penpot instead of figma, since the new ui is laggy

here's my experience so far:

- crash
- crash
- the ibm plex font supports one character less than in figma
- crash
- there's no way to make a pretty underline except flexbox
- wait there are no negative margins???
- crash
- what if i try to report it to tech support?
- oh the button doesn't do anything
- why doesn't the text align function align text that is inside a grid?
- crash
