Most icons look messy for one reason:
No system behind them.

Good icons follow simple design rules:
• Use a base grid

• Maintain safe space

• Build with consistent key shapes

• Keep stroke widths consistent

• Use the same corner radius

• Maintain consistent angles

Icons shouldn’t feel random.

They should feel like they belong to the same system.

That’s what makes interfaces look polished.
