I'm one of those who thinks #AI training on copyrighted texts is #fairuse. But it may be relevant that #PaperQA2, the prototype tool in question here, is from a startup called #FutureHouse funded by #EricSchmidt. Here's Schmidt's position on AI training and #copyright:
