Damian Yerrick@jk This perverse incentive wouldn't be nearly as strong if there were a way to electronically pay a website's operator an amount on the order of 0.25 EUR or USD. Instead, payment processors' fee per transaction incentivized a package deal: buy one article for $3 bundled with a month of access to all other articles on that site (and no other sites). Ad targeting tech promised a workaround for lack of micropayments, but its perverse incentives were even worse.
