We had a pretty big wind storm preceding the snow storm last week, so I spent some time today collecting windfall oak moss under the maple tree (yeah, oak moss also grows on non-oaks). IDK what I'm gonna use it for yet. It did work well in the pseudo gin, but I've been interested in trying it in a beer as well.

Moss and Fall

There's nothing more interesting than crawling around on the ground looking for a good macro shot. There were tons of leaves that have fallen from several different types of trees in the area but this was the only piece of oak moss that I could see anywhere on the ground. With the daylight just coming it stood out from the green ground foliage and the colorful leaves. (11/16/23)
