@Migueldeicaza @davew ,

Long story short, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc., all dropped support for “Public” folders. Our abstraction doesn’t. It allows operators of #ODSBriefcase “mounted folders” to set fine-grained, attribute-based access controls scoped to folders or specific files. It also handles #identity, loosely coupled with authentication protocols. In fact, you can even use sophisticated queries to define these access controls.

@[email protected] @atomicpoet @photocyte @helge,

Attached screenshot depicts my #ActivityPub outbox deployed via my #ODSBriefcase.

Zero byte doc sizes is due to the virtual nature of the outbox folder i.e., it is actually #VirtuosoDBMS hosted.

Our multi-model Virtuoso platform supports #DBMS or #Filesystem interaction modalities, amongst many of its modern multi-model and multi-purpose DBMS features.

@atomicpoet,
There’s also the notion of a #filesystem where files or folders are temporal in nature, with user-controlled expiration timeframes.

That’s been a feature of our #ODSBriefcase which is stealthily making its way to the #Fediverse as per my earlier post about @demo .

@reiver Take a URL from that instance and then pass it through each method using cURL.

It's as #HTTP as it gets.

Example:

curl -I http://kingsley.idehen.net/DAV/home/kidehen/Public/Linked%20Data%20Documents/Playground/gptChat/9to5mac-apple-offers.ttl

Response: https://tinyurl.com/bda88kax

#ODSBriefcase #LDP #WebDAV

@reiver How do you explain http://kingsley.idehen.net/DAV/home/kidehen/Public/Linked%20Data%20Documents/Playground/gptChat/#this then?

That's an #HTTP-based filesytem (built circa 2000, and still running) that also supports #WebDAV and the more recent #LDP protocol.

I can perform operations recursively just as I would a #Unix, #Linux, #macOS, or #Windows filesystem. It also includes both Role-Based Access Controls (#RBAC) and the more powerful fine-grained Attribute-Based Access Controls (#ABAC) 😀
