Outranked by the great Larry the #Number10Cat, prolific tweeter Palmerston was a disreputable cat, named after the infamous Foreign Secretary and Prime Minister Lord Palmerston. The original Palmerston is best known in Ireland as a cruel landlord in famine-ravaged #Sligo, and globally for starting the appalling #OpiumWars in China.

@lienrag Unfortunately in the UK the Prime Minister is appointed by the political party in power rather than being elected by the population a a whole.
If the PM was directly elected I'd nominate "Larry the Cat" who lives in 10 Downing street :)
