The #Narsaq stick (ca. AD 1000) is a contender for my favorite #artifact from #Norse #greenland. Just what the heck is it? A tongue twister riddle? A love charm? A joke? A coded spell? Something else entirely? And just who is Bibrau, if she is anyone at all? We will likely never know and that is part of the fun!

I’ve always found it interesting that most of the modern settlements in south Greenland are on the same sites that the Norse claimed. If your goal is agriculture there are only so many places in Greenland that will work!
