It’s incredibly frustrating to see Chippy relentlessly focused on making #NZLabour appear more appealing to the #NZPol right and neoliberal voters. There’s some wonderful people in Labour but the party seems incapable of breaking free from the neoliberal ideology that has encumbered the party for the last 40 years.

I can only find hope in the NZ Greens remaining resolute in addressing the wealth inequality, climate catastrophe and political corruption that is destroying #Aotearoa #NewZealand and hope enough voters support their political priorities to change the government and future of this country for the better. #PartyVoteGreen

NZ Labour finance spokesperson Barbara Edmonds asks what can be done from Opposition other than tap the sign with the election date. This is emblematic of everything that's wrong with Labour under Hipkins.

What passes for a "Labour" party in NZ these days is a policy vacuum with a red rossette slapped on. Michael Joseph Savage must be spinning in his grave so hard you could hook up a turbine to his corpse and start filling batteries.

Anyone who votes for that muppet show in 2026, expecting anything but a year pause in hostilities until the next Nat govt, is living in a state of delusion about political reality. I have a very reasonably prices harbour bridge to sell them ; }

McAnulty doesn't deliver the script with much conviction. What interesting though is that he sounded much less like a talking-point-chanting zombie when he said this, just before the bit I quoted;

"If we had to have a coalition partner I'd pick the Greens."

As with Tama Potaka, I suspect we're hearing a loyal party man, who is nevertheless deeply unsatisfied with the current direction of his party, and thus it's current leadership.
