EDAZ → EDAY NVFR ✈️🌃 in a
Diamond #DA40 as #Friese FRS22 at max 3.500 ft over #Berlin. We have been four pilots and it was gorgeous.

Departure #Schönhagen, apron lights and hangars fading behind.
Berliner Ring clockwise, city glow everywhere below.
Inner circle counter-clockwise, keeping clear of the restricted area.
Wind farms flashing red outside the city, Berlin fully lit inside.
Tegel passed as reference only.
Final into #Strausberg, runway lights straight ahead.

Hello dear #FlightSim friends.
We were four aircraft in loose formation, a proper #Friesenflieger outing from #Genoa along the beautiful Italian coast. Just past #Pisa, we spotted the iconic leaning tower – nicely rendered and still defying gravity.

Golden hour lit up #Elba, the Corsican mountains stood proud in the fading light, and by the time we reached #Olbia on #Sardinia, daylight had slipped into a calm NVFR cruise.

Flying together made it even better.

🛩️ Now that I had a closer look at my licence, I stumbled across the #VCL limitation, which means: "valid by day only" ☀️ I suspected it's a weird way of saying I haven't done my #NVFR rating… yet. 🌜 But that's not it. It's still from an old #medical that featured a "color deficiency". 🎨 Damn. I went the extra mile back then and did an expensive #Lantern test at #AeMC of #DLR Cologne to get rid of this! But I never submitted it for consideration, obv. 🤷 Should I do it now? 🤔 #aviation #pilot #PPL
