@[email protected] as a separate fuck-up, they were billing me on a more expensive tariff than the one I had signed up for. No way for me to tell since they hadn't sent any statements. When it came to light, they refused to rebill me for the correct tariff because it no longer existed and their computer wouldn't let them switch me to a tariff that doesn't exist. All of which is why I won't touch #npower again. I've found #octopus reasonably good, although their customer service email isn't very responsive.
@yescompsols @revk When I was with #Npower, they spontaneously stopped billing the direct debit for about a year and then, out of the blue, sent a "we're taking you to court for a year's worth of debt" letter. When I complained, they just said it was all my fault for not noticing that they hadn't been using the DD. Luckily the ombudsman upheld my complaint. (They had also sent no paper bills and had billed me on the wrong tariff, which they refused to fix since the tariff no longer existed)

#npower gave OK service today, but ruined it towards the end when they attempted to sell me insurance for the boiler by spreading fear and making dubious/false claims about our gas usage (probably sales tactic/strategy)
