@az @Ex_spurt even simpler on a global scale: Reading #NOTAMs, espechally #ADIZ entries…

  • This works for all spaces that ain't an actual warzone, as eell as "P.R." #China and #NorthKorea, which both declare their airspace banned for unscheduled flights and are know to fire upon intruders without warning.
NOTAMS have been issued for Iran apparently....

Venezuela denounces ‘colonialist threat’ as Trump orders airspace closed

President made declaration in a social media post, after FAA last week warned airlines of ‘worsening security situation’

The Guardian

@SamantazFox OFC there is.

#NOTAMs are already being issued and the airspace over the Oblast Kaliningrad is closed as in the "P.R." China or North Korea: "Intruders may be shot down without warning"...

  • Not shure if this only impacts #NAVSTAR-#GPS and #SBAS like #Galileo (which I don't count as #GNSS due to being technologically inferior to GPS to enforce #US hegemonial interests), or if #GLONASS and #BeiDou / #COMPASS are also affected. I certainly have neither time nor desire to "fuck around and find out"

NOTAMs that you do not expect:

Paul Bertorelli at AvWeb nails it on #NOTAMs: “It presents a gusher of useless information that you don’t need and obscures what you do need in reams of impenetrable government speak and statutorily approved abbreviations.” https://www.avweb.com/insider/faa-to-southwest-here-hold-my-beer/ #faa
FAA To Southwest: Here, Hold My Beer - AVweb

Without even trying, the FAA did what hasn't been done since 9/11: It cleared the airspace of commercial traffic. And anyway, who needs NOTAMs?

I wrote about #NOTAMs this morning, seeing how they’re in the news. https://pwoodford.net/blog/?p=32460
