@kamala

@LokeMani Congratulations. The garlic sprouting is worthy of a week of celebration. #garlic, #gardening, #nodig
Made these bean tipis (teepees?) from willow branches that were stripped by goats.

Today was compost day. The two main piles were turned and moved 90°. A third pile is from the two compost daleks to which compostable material had been added over winter.

There are two more compost daleks of home made maturing compost and three recycled water butt planters are ready for growing carrots. #Compost #Allotment #NoDig #Gardening #SolarPunk

@Frau_Mensch I’ve been using no dig practices for over a decade to grow fruit and veg on an allotment.

It works well. I find it is easier physically than digging. It promotes better soil health, reduces weed pressure, improves water infiltration and water holding capacity in the soil. #NoDig

@Broadfork Hello to the soil blocks. They are looking good. The blend is good and the moisture is good. This will be our second growing season using soil blocks. #compost, #soil, #nodig
This production line will put out several thousand seedlings of 200 varieties this year (alone 200+ tomato seedlings).
They go into ~600 m2 of veg garden that provides for my family, the family owning the land and some more.
We are self-sufficient with potatoes, onions, garlic, brassicas, herbs and many other vegs and salads.
It takes roughly 300 hours a year to tend the garden.
Everything is organic and #NoDig

February 14, 2026. Reporting from the southern Minnesota composting space. The compost was covered last fall to moderate the temperatures to get more days of biological action. This compost is frozen solid for our gardening friends in warmer places. The space is a three bin space with imaginary dividers. This works well for managing the materials with a pitchfork. #Zone4b, #compost, #nodig, #compostodon, #minnesota
@LifeTimeCooking There are many varieties of garlic. Thank you to Armenia, Georgia, Krasnador, Persia, and more. #Armenia, #nodig, #growyourown, #garlic.
