Well, this just freaking sucks! The New York Mets just traded my favorite player, Brandon Nimmo, to Texas. Nimmo has always been a gutsy player, whose always hustled and always gave his all. A fan favorite, who put up great numbers this season. This is a tough one... The business of baseball really sucks for the fans!

Seeing a lot about the #Mets spending spree, as if they're the new kings of #NewYork excess. Probably worth mentioning that the combined overall value of their contracts for #Verlander #Robertson #Nimmo #Quintana and #Senga is narrowly less than the #Yankees are paying #AaronJudge over the life of his deal. Yes, that Mets money is front-loaded, but the urgency to win a #WorldSeries now demands it.

Per Jon Heyman, #Nimmo and the #Mets agree to an 8 year, $162M contract. A bit longer than I would like, but I’m glad the deal got done. The Mets already have enough holes to fill, without having to find a replacement for him, and Cohen has the money!
