my first interaction with #NHS111 and i have to say... i am very impressed.

my pharmacy has conspired to create a little medication crisis by ignoring my prescription for 4 days, and now won't dispense it. the 111 people say they know how to fix this before EoD.

Our doctors surgery has excelled itself just recently. I rang #NHS111 this morning. They got the doctors to ring me and I got an appointment and prescription this afternoon.
Also, I got an evening appointment for my son last week without any hassle.
I don't go to the doctors very often at all. Mainly, because I'm usually fit and well or I shrug it off.
Marvellous.
Well done to them.

At the same time private #healthcare is trumpeting instant access to health professionals, waiting times on #NHS111 have reached nearly half an hour (on average) with nearly a fifth of callers just giving up;

so now the service the Tories pretended would help deal with capacity issues in the main #healthservice is also under staffed;

the wreckers continue to laugh all the way to their backers' bank!

My #hospital #doctor sister is still at work - she should've finished at 5. She has so many sick #patients she called in tears.

Her husband is on nights in a different hospital & me & my Mum have put their kids to bed.

After 3 days of no no food, constant vomiting & inability to keep down even water, my other half went to hospital today. We tried #NHS111 yesterday, Xmas day, but got no answer. Tried again this morning, still no answer after an hour queue. Called 999 & they assessed an ambulance was required but with a wait of more than 7 hours. Advise was to get a taxi to A&E but the nearest is 16 miles away. So £62 taxi ride later she waits an hour in A&E for triage then 4 hours for a doctor.
