Finally! I am starting the process of upgrading my old laptop from windows 10 to #mxlinux. I will try to take Amy pictures of the process and then do a short blog on the mini-project.

The only quirk so far is that it didn't recognize my hard drive. A quick dive into UEFI to disable secure boot. Also had to disable fast boot. SATA mode also required changes to AHCI. That seemed to work as it sees the drive and install is proceeding.

#MXLinux 25 is tempting.

Currently on #Kubuntu and debating whether going backwards three #KDEPlasma releases is worth it for the MX Tools and making AppImages work again.

I3wm config on MX is different in one of two things from the one I've been using along the years. That's why it was giving me problems.

I removed the old config, generated a new one with i3wm wizard and now it seems all good.

Digital sustainability at one of #Hannover 's (Germany) largest 🍎 schools!

At a 2-day workshop at the end of May, 10 enthusiastic students learned how software determines the operating life of their devices.

They then rolled up their sleeves and upgraded 5 laptops to make them usable again with #FreeSoftware #OpenSource (#Fedora, #Debian, #MXLinux #KDE #Plasma6).

Now they decide where to donate the laptops: To the school, the library or people in their community 🚀
