Honestly, it feels like embracing unfettered capitalism leads to only two paths for countries.

Either the people unify through their struggles and force reform into the system and transition into a social democracy.

Or the wealth + power entrenches itself and fascism takes over - fuelled by an oligarchic regime that feeds the regime in power via quid pro quo.
