I have determined the best way to make a universal monster danger rating, regardless of system.

You calculate how many peasants it takes to kill the creature.

Peasant Rating? Peasant Threshold?

Will need to run some numbers. For science.

And yet, there were no marsupials in the #ADnD #MonsterManual. A huge mythological oversight by Gygax!

Australia Admits All Those Animals Made Up

SYDNEY—Saying the ruse began as a harmless prank about the continent’s mammals having pouches, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese admitted Tuesday that all those animals like wallabies, numbats, quokkas, and bandicoots were completely made up. “We just assumed everyone would have caught on by now, because these creatures are clearly imaginary,” said Albanese, adding that […]

Ummm. So why does the #MonsterManual (2024) not have regular lizardfolk. We've got geomancers (CR2) and we've got sovereigns (CR4) but no regular lizardfolk?

I mean, sure, I've got the original Monster Manual (and so, so many more books) but still ... seems like you should have the baseline monster.

I'm really enjoying the #DnD2024 #MonsterManual . I love the art, I enjoy how they handle monster spellcasting now (primarily using Int instead of Cha), I like the changes to naming conventions (bye-bye culturally-appropriative phylacteries, hello spirit jars), and I'm pleased by the concept changes in such beings as the genies (especially the dao and efreeti). Don't like that groups such as demons, devils, dragons and yugoloths...
