
The stupider the weapon the happier it makes me. Take the MiG-21 for example. It isn’t easy to dogfight with. The gunsight is hard to keep on target and get an accurate shot with given the aircraft’s tendency to bob around. It bleeds airspeed very quickly and takes a while to gain it back. Its engine can also flame out if you look at it funny. But when you get a handle on it, it absolutely zooms.

भारतीय हवाईदलाच्या स्थापनेला 93 वर्षे पूर्ण होत असतानाच त्यात नव्या युगाची सुरुवात करणाऱ्या मिग-21 लढाऊ विमानाला भावपूर्ण निरोप दिला गेला आहे. 26 सप्टेंबर 2025 ला चंदिगडच्या हवाईदल स्थानकावर पार पडलेल्या समारंभात या विमानांनी शेवटचं Operational उड्डाण केलं. त्यावेळी एका विमानाचं सारथ्य हवाईदल प्रमुख एअर चीफ मार्शल ए. पी. सिंह यांनी केलं होतं.
