Meule | the PROPAGANDA site

Meule is a French band whose music is a distinctive amalgamation of electronic music, progressive rock, post-rock and krautrock. They play in an unusual configuration that involves two drummers, with Dorris Biayenda and Léo Kapes facing each other, sharing a single bass drum between them, and a guitarist in Valentin Pedler, who also takes care of an impressive array of modular synths including some old school analog components. Rhythm is emphasized in their music with plenty of motorik tyope beats delivered by the Biayenda and Kapes pair  as they practically bold-face the grooves. Pedler, on the other hand, carries a considerable load as he takes the lead on the melodic parts, coordinating between his guitar and the synths. There are a lot of musical ideas packed into their work as their pieces regularly clock at around the 6-minute range.
