In the TV show Man On The Inside the apartments they use for the exterior shot are at the corner of California St and Jones St in San Francisco which has two pōhutukawa (#Metrosideros excelsa) growing outside.

I've been enjoying the big flowering year of the pohutukawa trees in the gardens of Ōtautahi-Christchurch. They're on the wane now, and all the fallen stamens are making the footpaths look magenta.
