As I'm trying to make #linux my daily driver, I'm trying to look for some equivalents to applications that don't have a native equivalent (that I'm aware of)
Right now, there are two main ones I'm looking for:
* A launcher that supports menus in the "taskbar" similar to truelaunchbar which I've been using for years. (See screenshot)
* A media organizer/sync utility like #mediamonkey that allows me to manage and synchronize my music with my android phone. (A proper self-hosted streaming option would be lovely, but I can't be bothered right now, so I'm looking for quick.)
Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm currently running Linux Mint.
OK why can't #mediaplayers get volume normalization right?
Long ago, when I was still using Windows, #MediaMonkey and #MusicBee did that fantastic.
Current mediaplayer that I use: not so much.
Which mediaplayer do you recommend, for MacOS?
A random advertisement for good #software. Just because it makes me happy:
I've been using #mediamonkey since almost 20 years. It is so inviting to curate and maintain, and play from my local #music library!
One essential strength of MM is that it does not hide the complexity of a media #library . Instead, it makes the complexity accessible and manageable.
It is not for everyone, but if you really like having locally stored music and you can enjoy quality software, check it out.
When is a #MediaMonkey going to ask #SpecialCounsel #RobertHur where he got his degree in geriatric medicine and why, the fuck, he felt it appropriate to put #HIPPA covered diagnostic information in a legal report?
