Mayor #Harrell and the new City Council are attempting a massive expansion of surveillance technologies in #Seattle These reckless opponents of #privacy and community safety want Closed Circuit Television Cameras (#CCTV), Acoustic Gunshot Location System (#AGLS) aka ShotSpotter and Real Time Crime Center (#RTCC). Seattle residents have until the end of February to say: No to Surveillance City. What’s amazing to me is that Bruce Harrell/Tim Burgess and Ann Davison are fine with bacteria laden chewed gum attached to a wall in a public market with stalls selling fish, fruit, vegetables and donuts, yet they can’t accept aerosol paint on masonry and concrete facing streets, sidewalks and other public accesses. Luma is a cedar tree in the Wedgewood neighborhood of Seattle. Included in the census of Salish culturally modified trees (CMT) in the Pacific Northwest. About 200 years old, when its life was threatened due to building developer action, people especially, including local indigenous community members, organized to save Luma. We need more elder trees in Seattle, #SeattleCouncil #BruceHarrell (#MayorOfSeattle), not more concrete.
