I just watched #ManyATrueNerd's video of Jon playing the game #Clickolding

that ehh, sure was something 😅
I'm intrigued, and kinda want to read up on the lore and watch someone else play beyond where he stopped, but not tonight 😂

@FiXato as per the request in your bio: I found you while searching for #ManyATrueNerd here on Mastodon. It looks like we are both fans! Also, both dads, artists, and coders.
@vicorva I just watched #ManyATrueNerd play some of #LilGatorGame, and I have the feeling it would be right up your alley, especially as a stream game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1586800/Lil_Gator_Game/

Stepping out of my comfort zone a bit for today's drawing by using a medium I'm not really familiar with: alcohol markers.
I recently picked up three Winsor & Newton Promarkers from the clearance bin at Staples, and wanted to give them a try.

Since my palette is rather limited with just three colours, I wanted to draw an example that was also rather limited in colours. Having recently watched Many a True Nerd's playthrough of Metro 2033 Redux, I decided to pick a scene of the Dark Ones near the end of the game.

I kind of like the results (though I think I prefer my monochrome version best?), and I might pick up some more colours if they still have them on sale, the next time I can pop in.

Metro 2033 Redux

@brownpau heh, I actually have an old livestream recording of #ManyATrueNerd doing a legendary survival-mode run of #Skyrim on atm. :)

@paul
too technical terms for me to be honest. ;)
Prototype idea I currently have in my head is basically wandering around an environment that has static and moving objects that generate sounds, with their volume and balance adjusted to their location relative to the camera (and perhaps how many of the same object; a single bird would make less noise for example than a whole flock).
The objective then would be to get close enough to specific sound sources, of which you'd have a list of ones to find.
Ideally the objects would then also be placed logically within the environment and hints would be provided for their location. e.g. find a dove that's at a train stop of a track that's circling a church. So, from a distance you could use the sound of the church bells to home in towards the centre. At some point you'd hear for example the alarm bells of a railway crossing. Along that track would be a walkway towards the train station. You could also use the sound of the surface you're walking on, as an indicator of your surroundings.
Ideally there'd be more audio keys along the path, as well as other objects to find or otherwise observe, so you're not just hunting for a single thing at a time.

Anyway, the idea is just about half an hour old, so I haven't given it much thought. Mostly just came to mind after watching a #LetsPlay by #ManyATrueNerd of some sort of visual "Where Is Waldo?" game, where you had to find pen-drawn characters in a very busy pen-drawn environment based on pointers like "find the ghost mail" (look in a neighborhood for a house that has a ghost floating around and then open its mailbox), or one that wanted you to find a chick that became a single bite lunch for a reptile (find a jungle area, look for the reptiles, and click on the snake that clearly had a hump).
It made me curious if such a very visual game could work without any visuals instead.

Came across this #gameplay video by #ManyATrueNerd of #BirthdaysTheBeginning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXhSBN0-e_o
It's an #evolution simulation game that looks to be right up your alley @vicorva :)

The ending(s) of #SOMA were good.
I enjoyed watching #ManyATrueNerd's #LetsPlay of that #game. :)

But Simon sure is kinda thick...

Been really enjoying the series of Let's Play Hitman 2 videos by Many A True Nerd.

I've never played any of the #Hitman series myself, but it looks like it could actually be something I might enjoy. It's also a #game that has the potential to still be quite playable after having watched a #LetsPlay of it, due to the variety of ways of taking out your targets, and exploring the lore.

Hitman 2

Hitman 2 is a rather excellent entry into the Hitman franchise, building on 2016's excellent predecessor

Me, while watching #ManyATrueNerd play #MetroidPrime:
"... that's a good point... where does the rest of #SamusAran go when she morphs into a ball?"
@Siiw responding: "Probably the same space as the 255 missiles go 8P"

eh... yeah, good point ;)
