Here's the third and last conceptual editorial assignment for MK Ateliers by Leonie Bos in the series I'm sharing this week.

No mockup briefing this time, but a theme: the revival of crafts and manual work.

Again, there's two different variants: one with a more minimalistic/graphic approach, the second one with a bit more of a scene.

Of the first, graphic one I made about a gazillion different versions, trying out all sorts of ways to make the flat image more interesting - by playing with line/no line and white/color contrast. This is the one I liked best.

Even though I feel there is still a big gap between this type of 'simple' graphic illustration and the more elaborate and explanatory scenes, I do like experimenting and I try to focus on finding the common denominator, which is: always a 'made by human' type of look even when the illustration itself is pretty slick.
