He heard an explosion. Despite losing consciousness, #Maksym managed to get out of the car and saw #Ukrainian_Defenders running toward him to help.
#Maksym was first operated on in #Sloviansk. He underwent high-level amputations of his arm and leg. He was then transferred to #Dnipro with a fragment lodged near his heart. Doctors at the cardiology center removed the shrapnel to save his life.
To save #Maksym, more than six liters of blood products were transfused at #Mechnikov Hospital.

A #Russian_FPV drone destroyed the car of #Maksym, 22, from #Sloviansk, #Donetsk region. His arm and leg were completely shattered. There was nothing left to save, doctors said.

On January 2, #Russian forces struck a residential area in #Kharkiv with two missiles, killing 22-year-old #Anastasiia and her 3-year-old son, #Maksym.
Overall, about 30 people were injured, including children. Five more people are still missing and the search for them continues. At the start of #Russiaโs full-scale invasion, the family fled to #Poland. #Anastasiia later returned to Ukraine with her son and was living in #Kharkiv.

Last night, First Class pilot Lieutenant Colonel #Maksym_Ustymenko was killed while flying an #F_16 aircraft and defending #Ukraineโs skies from a #Russian attack.
#Maksym used the full range of onboard weapons and shot down seven #Russian targets.
While destroying the final target, the aircraft sustained damage and began to lose altitude. The pilot managed to steer the aircraft away from populated areas, preventing civilian casualties โ
As of 6 pm today, 34 people were killed and 117 injured by the #Russian strike on #Sumy. Two of the killed and 15 of the injured are children.

During an attack on a position, #Ukrainian Defender #Maksym had his legs torn off and lost a lot of blood. Upon admission to the hospital, he had dangerously low haemoglobin.
Doctors in the #Mechnikov Hospital fight for #Maksym's life. But it is his girlfriend, #Anzhela, who gives him a great boost to survive. She is with him in the intensive care unit around the clock, holding his hand and kissing him tenderly.
#Maksym was mobilized into the ranks of the Armed Forces of #Ukraine, and upon his return, he continued to work as an electrician. He is survived by a 14-year-old daughter.
