A #Reuters cameraman, #Ivan_Liubysh_Kirdei, suffered multiple injuries and was in a coma for a long time as a result of a #Russian strike on the Sapfir (#Sapphire) hotel in #Kramatorsk, #Donetsk region, on August 25.

The operator was first treated at the #Mechnikov Hospital in #Dnipro and later transferred to a hospital in #Kyiv. There, he celebrated his birthday with his relatives, friends, and colleagues. Medics call the very fact that he survived a miracle.

During an attack on a position, #Ukrainian Defender #Maksym had his legs torn off and lost a lot of blood. Upon admission to the hospital, he had dangerously low haemoglobin.

Doctors in the #Mechnikov Hospital fight for #Maksym's life. But it is his girlfriend, #Anzhela, who gives him a great boost to survive. She is with him in the intensive care unit around the clock, holding his hand and kissing him tenderly.

#Serhii is 24 years old. He is from the city of #Romny, #Sumy region. Before the war, the #Ukrainian Defender was a professional hand-to-hand fighter.

During the shelling, #Serhii received severe wounds to his limbs. He was saved by a young trauma surgeon at #Mechnikov Hospital, #Youssef_Alrifai, from Lebanon. He provides trauma and surgical care to wounded #Ukrainian Heroes around the clock.

#Serhii's dream is to return to war and compete in the #Paralympics.

On the night of August 21, a #Ukrainian Defender, #Vladyslav, was delivered to #Mechnikov Hospital with a head injury and traumatic amputation of his left arm due to a direct hit by a #Russian #FPV drone on the #APC that the soldier was in.

After the operation, which lasted all night, while on a ventilator, he asked for a pen and wrote that his wife was giving birth.

Doctors at #Mechnikov Hospital have made it possible for #Vladyslav to see his wife once again.

"At last, my love will come to me. I can breathe and speak on my own. My lonely days are over, and my life is back on track. When I am waiting for #Sophia, I am happy to see the sky through the intensive care window and hear the noise of the city. I feel that I am getting better," the #Ukrainian Defender said.

She gave him a kiss of life through a breathing mask.
