I have a question about our 'moving house' plans, and I would welcome some thoughts about it.

We have a lot of stuff to get rid of, but also a lot of stuff, (furniture, workshop machines, steel and timber stock, heavy equipment, etc.) that will need to move with us.

My thoughts were to somehow find a local place that has shipping container storage, move it all there while clearing the house, and then move the shipping container when we know where we have moved to.

I don't know if there is such an option locally, at both ends.

I'd appreciate any ideas as to how to do this, or if you have companies that you are aware of that would work like this.

We are in the Greater Manchester are of the UK and moving to rural Wales.

Thank you.

Sorry, I don't know about online shops, I don't have one myself, and rarely buy stuff like that now.

I wonder if the #MakersHour folks would know? Also, maybe a #MakersHelp question.

Edit:
Found! Tube button spring clips.
Thank you @yvan

Those sprung buttons that you have as an insert inside a tube, so that you can use as an adjustable stop as it telescopes inside another tube....

What are they called, please, so that I can find some to buy.

Thank you.

I'm currently testing the waters doing some Intro to Making courses in my area.

Does anyone have a favorite single-sided SMD learn-to-solder kit? I have some wonderful double-sided ones, but would prefer to teach the hot plate method for beginners.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a cheap, but still usable (and safe) UV EPROM eraser? I need to program some 2732s...

Any #Atari experts out there know where I can find out the max current draw from the 5V (pin 7) of a 2600 joystick port?

From the schematics it looks like it comes directly off a 7805 and the field service manual BOM lists a 78M05 which I think has a max 500mA with suitable heatsink. But that is powering the whole console...

But so far my searching is failing me with a definitive answer! :)

My other half made these, they were bubbly but are now flat, coz it's coloured lemonade. Obviously that will need replacing to keep these on display long term.
What should we replace it with? Obviously non toxic, but also mould and bacteria inhibiting. Something safe to add food colourings to. Maybe non conductive?

Any ideas, #makersHour? #makersHelp

MiL is struggling to hear her new digital landline phones ringing at home.

Is there a reliable device to extend/amplify the ringing volume?

Or is there a hack I can do to the phones to make them louder? Some way of adding a louder sounder or bell to a phone?

Thank you.

Edit:
Currently looking at something like this. But it says plug into the wall socket. I don't know if that would also work if plugged into the back of the router for her digital phone line.

Asking for a friend.
A decorative concrete or reconstituted stone planter has broken in two. Would a chemical anchor adhesive work (for ease of application with a caulking gun) to glue the planter back together?

Otherwise, any recommendations?

Thank you.
