And Happy World Chocolate Day! Chocolate is important to Canada and our cocoa related industry totals $2.6B annually. Canadians eat an average of 6.4 kilos of chocolate a year, which, based on an average bar size, is at least 160 chocolate bars per year, per person. That puts us at 9th place on world chocolate consumption – a kilo more than the U.S. That consumption includes all baking and prepared foods.

On May 28th it's your responsibility to celebrate National Hamburger Day. The history of the hamburger can be traced back to Roman times (I read that on the interwebs) but it's generally accepted that the burger-on-a-bun was made famous at the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair.
