#monsterdondoublefeature Well, the first #sonofdracula1943 was good, but #SunOfDracula1974 is very much... "What was that I was just watching..." Perhaps If I watched better... Oh, this sounds strangely like closing credits music... Phew...

I give #SonOfDracula1943 4 out of 5 stars in the category of Movie Turning out to be Better than You Expected.

It wasn't nearly as dumb as the Alucard gambit lead us to believe. The story did a decent job of following the logic of a vampire coming to a small town. Aside from the rubber bat, the effects were well executed. I liked the cast, they mostly seemed to like each other.

The vampire was portrayed in an unusually understated performance. The doctor and the professor didn't waste much time doubting what was happening. We got a diabolical femme fatale. The weakest character was the lover put through a wringer of doubt that threatened to get overwrought but he redeemed himself in the end.

Thank you #Monsterdon for choosing it, thanks @Taweret for hosting, and thanks @cherizilla for the bingo card!
