The breadth and depth of the heartfelt tributes to George Baldock reflect what a special person and popular player he was. Fans of MK Dons, his first club, have already raised £1,000 for a banner. Oxford United fans have been sharing with MK Dons and Sheffield United supporters their fond memories of how well Baldock played on loan for them. Blades fans are also buying a banner and wanting to dedicate a Player of the Year award in his honour. Greece, for whom Baldock played 12 times, did his memory proud at Wembley. Nothing can ever console Baldock’s grieving family fully but the love from his footballing family must still help.

His old Sheffield United team-mate, James McAtee, struggled to hold back the tears pitchside at the Vitality last night as he gave his own tribute to his friend. The Manchester City talent had just scored twice for England Under-21s against Ukraine, each time holding up his shirt to reveal a “rest easy, brother” message.

“I had that on my shirt so I was destined to score and I did, it was in honour of him,” McAtee said. “It was a really emotional night. I played tonight for him. It was his little kid's birthday yesterday and it's an emotional one for his family and all his team-mates back home.  I’m wishing his family all the best.

“It’s been a tough week, I’ve spoken to my old team-mates, it’s been hard to speak to them. Everyone knows he's a special player. He was a special person and you can see that in all the tributes to him.”

A theme of many of the tributes was Baldock’s generosity of spirit. He helped McAtee settled in at Bramall Lane when he moved on loan from Manchester City. “Look what he gave me. Even when I left he was still texting me and asking, saying he'd welcome me with open arms.” McAtee has the pictures of the pair celebrating promotion to the Premier League in 2023 and he will cherish all the memories of Baldock. “Definitely,” McAtee said emphatically.  #SUFC #MKDONS #OUFC #ENG #MCFC

#MKDons have been working on a deal for Crawley Town's Scott Lindsey to become their new manager, with expectation that a deal can be sorted for him. Lindsey, 52, has been on shortlists for other #EFL positions this season
Spent this afternoon at a family event at our local football team MK Dons for their match vs Doncaster Rovers. Still doesn’t have a very big amount of support (not surprising given the history of the club) but decent given the amount of people there. The activities for the kids could have been better but my son enjoyed it so that’s what matters. The football was decent as well. Overall, it was a fun day out. ⚽️

Pete Winkelman sells MK Dons and stadium to Kuwait-based consortium led by Fahad Al Ghanim, whose family owns football club Kuwait SC. “The deal, which leaves the club and stadium group debt-free, has now been ratified by all parties following clearance from the EFL,” say #MKDons.

Winkelman tells fans that “what has become clear to me in recent years is that while I am so proud of Stadium MK and the sustainable business we’ve created, it can only support the development of the Football Club to a certain level, without separate and significant investment.

“Over the last year, I have been able to spend time with Fahad and he has convinced me that he brings the passion, determination and ambition to see the club participate at the highest level and has the resources to help it do so. It is, therefore, time for me to step aside and put the custodianship of the club and the wider business into new hands.”

Al Ghanim sends message to fans “to reassure you that my ambition is to build on the fantastic foundations already here in Milton Keynes, and to take MK Dons to the next level, both on the pitch and off it. Nothing will change in the short term, no one will be made redundant, and the structure of the business will fundamentally remain the same. Our first focus will be on strengthening the first team squad to give the club the best chance of promotion this season."

Here are the fixtures for the Adobe Women's FA Cup Round 3.

Birmingham City Women have been drawn away to Milton Keynes Dons which should be interesting, I don't think we've ever played them before!
