Ortswechsel: Thermopylen. Das bronzene Denkmal erinnert an Leonidas, den König von Sparta, der hier 480 vChr mit seinen Gefährten fiel. In der Schlacht an den Thermopylen stellte sich damals ein kleines griechisches Heer unter Leonidas im engen Pass der gewaltigen Invasionsarmee des Perserkönigs Xerxes entgegen. Die legendären 300 waren dabei die spartanische Elitegarde des Leonidas, werlche bis zum letzten Mann kämpfte und so zum Sinnbild für Opfermut wurde.
