i have a squirrel proof bird feeder.

yup squirrel proof.

its in a location away from trees & a custom design made by my partner.

the pole is metal so when they try to climb the pole to get to the feeder, they just slide down...in theory this would be hilarious. although, in two winters, i've never seen a squirrel even attempt it.

this year there've been two regular squirrels, i've named them "One" and "Two." how do you know which is which? just look, it's obvious.

neither One or Two has attempted to climb that pole.

last week, "Three" arrived. he musta traveled from a land far away because now a squirrel has attempted to climb the pole twice. neither time for me, always for my partner.

I can stand here and watch for tens of minutes with no action.
I WANT to see the squirrels try and get to the seed and fail..sliding down the pole with nothing to grip onto

he's not a fan of the little rodents and is known to yell at them; some could say he hates them. (even though he doesn't have hate in his being)

twice, he just walks by and sees Three sliding down. not three squirrels sliding, but Three. we say it must be Three, because One and Two have been here all winter and never tired.

he laughs and says "squirrel slide" and walks away. i run to the window and stare-never to be indulged on the failed attempts of the squirrel.
