We should only take from the land what it can naturally give! Water is precious here. Both the groundwater we can draw from our borehole and the rainwater we harvest from the roofs are limited resources. To protect this fragile balance, we must limit the number of guests; and even then, everyone’s care and cooperation in saving water is essential.

Libraries across the United States have cut back on some digital services weeks after the Trump administration's move to dismantle the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Maine has temporarily closed its state library and others across the country have paused their interlibrary loan programs. The reductions in services coincide with a lawsuit filed by more than 20 state attorneys general and the American Library Association to restore funding. They argue only Congress has the authority to control federal spending. E-book and audiobook programs are especially vulnerable to budget cuts, even though those offerings have exploded in popularity since the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Recalibration of limits to growth: An update of the World3 model"
You can see on the results section that the food production is estimated to peak around 2024.
Meet the new wars, same as the old wars - just substitute rare earth elements #RREs for oil, with EVs driving it all.
"We will coup whoever we want" - Elon Musk
#OverConsumption is at the core of our problems. More consumption just leads down the same old paths.
S&P Global has completed a look at the #LimitedResources needed by the #ClimateChange incentives in the Inflation Reduction Act for EVs and #renewableEnergy.
"energy-transition-related US demand for the critical
minerals lithium, nickel and cobalt, taken together, will be 23 times higher in 2035 than it was in 2021. For copper, it will be twice as high. This is equivalent to
compound annual growth rates of 25% for the three critical minerals and 4% for copper." Most of that is for EV batteries
This is fantastic. When you stack functions by making #EV batteries also function as backup power, it begins to offset the wastefulness & #overconsumption inherent in EV culture as currently implemented with heavy batteries overusing #lithium and other #LimitedResources to have ranges 3x what is needed for 98% of all trips. Of course it would be FAR more efficient if you weren't using energy to unnecessarily move your battery storage around, but I'll take it.
