Appreciation (A) over time (t) isn't static. Physical attraction (P) is a function of character (C) over time. As my wife’s spirit shone through her fight over the past year, she became more beautiful to me. That beauty is an eternal truth.

Cancer is a cruel disease, but my wife was tougher. She fought so hard. I’m holding onto the memory of her ringing the bell after her first chemo, defiant and full of life, telling it to fuck off. My chest swelled with pride that day.
She lost the battle yesterday, but my love continues and only gets stronger by the day. To me, she was—and is—truly beautiful in every sense of the word.
