OMG

The FANTASTIC #kdrama #LiveUpToYourName is back streaming again!

It is on Tubi amd the Roku Channel for free (with ads)!

YAY YAY YAY

This was one of my first kdramas that I *loved* and Spouse liked it a lot, too! I was so sad when it was no longer on Netflix or Viki.

I especially like the dichotomy of comparing modern western medicine to traditional Eastern medicine along with commentary on women's rights. Plus time travel!

Starring Kim Nam Gil!

@jane23c OK, so I'm on the right track! 😁

I'd also recommend the #kdrama #LiveUpToYourName. Smart comparison between modern western medical procedures and traditional eastern medicine, with silliness, time travel, commentary on class and gender discrimination, and hot kisses.

@Hanktank
That was such a fun one!

#kDrama #LiveUpToYourName

@whoosh I think the #kdrama #LiveUpToYourName is one of the best. I love seeing the comparisons of traditional medical care versus western surgical care. I love watching the male lead change as he adapts and learns how to succeed in the future versus in his own time period. And the romance is full of chemistry. It is one of the first kdramas I had Spouse watch with me and he enjoyed it, too. And not too trope-y.

Live Up to Your Name
(2017 Netflix, 16 1:10 eps)

A friend recommended this one, or it wouldn't have appeared on my radar. I have never seen the 2 leads before. Both were good, but I will actively seek work by Kim Nam Gil - the character change from when he's troubled or trying to be cool to being his real dorky character is amazing.

The story is a time-traveling (Joseon to Modern) rom-com. It has a lot of laughs, typical of someone finding themselves out of their own time. The romance is sweet and strong enough that I cried & sniffled quite a bit.

Watch it for fun, or spend your time thinking about the complex moral dilemmas this show brings up. Although it treats them with a light hand and doesn't beat you over the head about it, it does make you think about the good of the many over an individual, as well as medical ethics.

Live Up to Your Name

Heo Im, who is born in a concubine family in the Joseon era and has very outstanding medical skills, is frustrated about his career as he fails to climb...

@templarknight @whoosh
I think the #kdrama #OnceUponASmallTown is charming and doesn't go too deep or get too drama-y.

I think the #cdrama #IHearYou was pretty good, too. The male lead is stand-off-ish like Lee Dong-Wook's character in #TouchYourHeart with the female lead being almost cartoonish.

It's been a while since I watched it, so I don't remember if there is major dead-family type stuff in this, but the story was really good and I enjoyed the characters a lot: the kdrama #WasItLove? It is definitely a "who is the father" rom-com.

The kdrama #LiveUpToYourName is fun and time-traveling and compares modern medicine to traditional medicine and has some hot kisses.
