What are my criteria for using systems apps and programs? 🤔 #privacy #security Well, when governments plan to #fud or censor a service, it is for me a big #SIGNAL to use that service. *Cough* #archiveToday. Everything about GrapheneOS is to embark on the grand #Odysee of becoming a #Linuxnerd. #secureblue, one has to be #brave to use certain services that are like #proton s in these #darkWeb times. With Tor and its hammer, we should look forward and #riseup to get up and stand up for our rights.

Testing the full BashCore Trixie Edition on VPS via Windows bash terminal.
Running Debian 13 (Trixie) with kernel 6.12.31-amd64. CLI only, of course.

The minimal setup worked flawlessly.
Now pushing the full toolset to its limits.
Some deprecated packages popping up... kernel looks promising though 🔥

#linuxmint #LinuMint #LinuxNerd years ago and several distros back I painstakingly went through [AltGr] plus every key on the keyboard and made a table of useful shortcuts, eg [AltGr]5 gives ½. and accents, eg [AltGr] :e gives é .Unfortunately upgrades and distro swaps have revealed that these key mappings are not fixed. Is there any published list or any way of generating one automagically from my current distro?

I was given a bunch of pictures to put on a web site, but straight off the camera they're all just too big.

So, some quick searches taught me about a package of #Linux utilities called #ImageMagick .

With some #bash_scripting , I used its commands "identify" and "convert" to automatically select the right size and create new output files that include the new dimensions (in pixels) in each file's name. (The command sed is a useful old friend, and expr pulled some weight today too.)

My goodness that made my life easier today.

@Sinthoid As a RedHat user since the 90s and a #Fedora user since FC1 I agree - there's an assumption that Ubuntu==Linux which is, of course, incorrect. #LinuxNerd
