#linustorvald had some particularly fun comments with respect to #russia #linux kernel maintainers. While I'm sure the individual maintainers are reasonable people (at least as far as kernel maintainers go), removing an avenue for Russia to inject nefarious kernel code (by way of force on these maintainers) is a net positive. I hate that we have to do such things, but it's the reality of where we are.
Following yesterday's news first featured on Phoronix of several Linux driver maintainers being de-listed from their maintainer positions within the mainline Linux kernel over their connections to Russia, Linus Torvalds has today commented on the matter.
This #Man is a living #Legend, but still #humble in his social #behaviour. I think using #Mastodon is by far easier than writing a #Linux #Kernel. But it was the sheer #Mass of gifted #Coders, that made Linux really #workable, like it is today. Linus knows, what the Word #Cooperation really means. I'm sure (and hope) he get's all the Help he needs on Mastodon and take a Bow to the Man, who broke Microsoft's #Monopoly to give a free #OS to the #World.

My first Unix like os was the SGI one not even sure what it was called now.
People always say that #Linux doesn't play nicely with hardware or software.
My friend has a hardrive that stopped working. I really thought the thing was dead. It was making that jank ticking sound of a dying hard drive. You know what I am talking about.
So I took it out of their PC, placed it in a #SATA HDD dock, and plugged it into my Linux laptop.
You'll never guess. #PopOS detected a #Windows hardrive people who were ready to throw away and lose all their data.
Nothing was corrupted. The hardrive was just very close to its end.
Do you want to tell me #LinusTorvald added patience to an operating system
