Walked to the village over the valley for their community festival yesterday: the #Linthwaite Leadboilers day.

We set off late due to some heavy rain showers and missed the dog show, but we made our own dog show by chatting to all the award-winning dogs & their humans as they roamed around. All the pups were showing off their rosettes with pride 😁

Also ate some donuts, @johnl had some excellent local beer and we walked some new-to-us footpaths.

Living at the top of a hill is a slog though!

Walked the #ColneValley Circular route - on the hills around #Golcar #Marsden #Slaithwaite & #Linthwaite to the west of #Huddersfield.

I walked it clockwise last summer (and most of the partial walks we do on it are that way for some reason) so we went anticlockwise today. 22.5km/14miles. The views are maybe better clockwise but the hills felt a bit easier.

We stopped in for a drink at the pub towards the last stretch and were rewarded for our behaviour by a fantastic sunset to take us home 😍

Did a quick 6mile loop in the #ColneValley this morning - Bolster Moor, Wellhouse, #Linthwaite, #Slaithwaite, then back up to near the big antennae at Pole Moor. Fab work and a glorious day for it too. (Also featuring, wood ready for pallet making at a place in #Slawit.)
