Walked the #ColneValley Circular route - on the hills around #Golcar #Marsden #Slaithwaite & #Linthwaite to the west of #Huddersfield.
I walked it clockwise last summer (and most of the partial walks we do on it are that way for some reason) so we went anticlockwise today. 22.5km/14miles. The views are maybe better clockwise but the hills felt a bit easier.
We stopped in for a drink at the pub towards the last stretch and were rewarded for our behaviour by a fantastic sunset to take us home 😍

Golcar and Slaithwaite are two mill towns located in the Colne Valley to the west of Huddersfield.

Walked along the #Huddersfield Narrow Canal from #Slaithwaite then joined the Colne Valley Circular at #Marsden for the walk back towards #Golcar - a 9mile loop with a few good climbs. Lovely day for it - wet towards Cupwith but not as outright boggy as I'd feared. Also met a good selection of dogs.
